We work with these athletes and take their previous skating knowledge and adapt it to speed skating.

Did you know that Cindy Klassen, the first Canadian to win five medals in one Olympic Games, played on Team Manitoba for women’s hockey at the Canada Winter Games but switched to speed skating when she was 19, within a year, she qualified to speed skate at the Canada Winter Games in 1999.

With a total of six Olympic medals, she is tied with fellow speed skater and cyclist Clara Hughes (also from Winnipeg) as the most decorated Canadian Olympian.
