WSSC Mission, Vision and Values

Mission
To foster healthy sport and recreation development of children and youth through the sport of speed skating. 

Vision
To be a strong child and youth-oriented speed skating community that contributes to the development of the skaters, the sport of speed skating, and the wider community as a whole. 

Values

Fair Play: Ethical behavior and honorable conduct will centre all our actions and take precedence over any other goals. 

Respect: All members of the organization have the right to be empowered and to have their beliefs, abilities, and ways of thinking and doing things respected. 

Community: We are a welcoming organization that includes all members of the organization in a way that meets their needs and believes that diversity makes our community stronger. 

Supporting Achievement: We support all our skaters to achieve their personal speed skating goals, whether that be recreational or competitive in nature.

Our Volunteers

We are so lucky to have actively involved parents in all our programs – parents jump into action to help get mats on and off the ice, run to the equipment room for supplies, etc.

We have a strong group of parents for our board this year, which will help to continue to grow our club and offer excellent programs for our skaters!

Speed Skating Manitoba (SSM) holds Manitoba Cup Meets throughout the winter season. Parents from all the clubs come out and join in the event – from timing the skaters to replacing the pucks on the ice – our parent volunteers are amazing!

It’s easy to join and volunteer – just follow the lead of our veteran parents and they will show you the ropes!
